MONTGOMERY COUNTY TRIPS:

Note when water conditions on Antietam Creek are poor [too low or marginal] We may shift trips to the Seneca Creek Area of the Potomac. When these trips are substituted they are always guided and are at the same price as quoted/ agreed for the Antietam Trip.

Inquire about special [Merit Badge focused, or not] BSA/GSA Scout trips on Seneca/Potomac .

Riley's Lock / Violet's Lock Seneca MD.

A. Quick Start / Introduction to Touring/Rec KayakCLASS on Seneca Creek at Riley's Lock. Class & short tour/trip 9am to 12:30pm./1:30pm to 5pm Cost $ 60

B. Quick Start / Introduction to Canoe CLASS on Seneca Creek at Riley's lock class and short trip. Min 6 participants in Tandem canoes. Cost $ 60

C. Recreational/Touring kayak/canoe Historic guided Trip. Orientation & Paddle up Seneca Creek to Poole's' Store lunch and return.Visit Riley's Lock, Seneca Creek Aqueduct, Seneca Stone Quarries which provided the unique red stone for the Smithsonian "castle" on the Mall.....& maybe Violette's lock Trip and paddle orientation, Cost $60

D. Touring Kayak/canoe Trip. Riley's lock to Violette's/Pennyfield Lock loop trip via Seneca Breaks,and return to Riley's lock on the C&O Canal . River Conditions determine route. [this trip will include at least 1 and as many as 3, 50 yard portages] Cost $70

E. Violette's lock loop Trip for Rec/River Kayak and Rec/WW Canoe. Class 1-2 run of the "Old Potomak Canal" on the VA side [surveyed by George Washington in the 1750's] with a return trip to your car on the C&O Canal. Trip is the best kept secret on the River; gentle rapids, rope swings., it has it all at the reasonable 2.5-4.0 water levels. Cost $70
